Rhus Open Source is a full stack software including web, ios, and android apps. Meant as a quick-deploy data collection tool, to bring mapping and citizien science projects to communities. What you are looking at here is part of the identity design for the white label mobile application and crowdfunding campaign. My part as product designer included UX, identity, graphic design, cartography, and web (coding and design).
Here is an exmple of Rhus at work in collaboration with PLOTS. We gathered together with other community members to create a weather balloon map of Dolores Park in SF Mission while taking photos on the ground using Rhus. These photos were automatically populated to the map. Afterward, we fed the RSS feed of the map imagery into our site. Clicking on a map point reveals the image taken in that spot.
Wildflowers of Detroit began as a sucessfuly crowdfunded campaign. Once the software was built, community members used the Android and iOS application to track the location and growth of Detroit's open spaces with the intention or preserving them. From the success of this platform Rhus was created.
Some sketches and screens from the android and iOS applications for Wildflowers and Rhus.
